An excellent opportunity has arisen to become Clinical Project Manager for one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical organisations.  You will lead delivery and project management teams on behalf of the Clinical Project Management Team or other non-drug project teams and to provide expert project management skills to Clinical Development.

Background

The Clinical Project Manager is responsible for leading a team of experts in the planning and delivery of a clinical deliverable to time, budget, resource, and quality constraints on behalf of the Clinical Project Team or other non-drug project team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead cross-Clinical delivery team meetings
• Lead the development of scenarios and options for delivery
• Develop, maintain, & leverage realistic, risk-managed plans, using the best delivery methods
• Responsible for project budget; define total costs of a project, manage to those costs, and ensure the project completes within the approved budget
• Secure appropriate resources in partnership with the regional managers and for the management of external sourcing relationships
• Identify & resolve resource issues via the CPT’s Monthly Planning & Review Process (MPRP), escalating issues to Program Coordinators and Clinical Capacity Management Team, as needed
• Identify, prioritise, manage, and communicate risks and opportunities associated with the deliverable
• Effectively manage key stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet expectations
• Design and implement project communication plans
• Communicate project progress and issues effectively with key stakeholders, including the CPT, Global Project Team, Regional departments, and other governance teams
• Provide project control by monitoring project performance
• Ensure high-quality Business Update submissions
• Champion project and capacity management practices and tools within Clinical Development
• Optimise the use of project & capacity management processes and systems within Clinical Development 
• Implement best practices in project management 

Experience and Qualifications

• University degree in a scientific discipline (or equivalent)
• Extensive Clinical Project Management experience from within the pharmaceutical or clinical research industry
• PMP, PRINCE or other project management certification is desirable
• Proven risk management and project control process implementation
• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical and pharmaceutical drug development process
• Willingness to travel both domestic and international
• Proven leadership skills
